iPhone Duo is about to be officially released, and Apple has now opened the submission portal for developers. Developers can use Xcode 27.1 to package applications and games that are adapted for this model.

Over the past few weeks, Apple has gradually released the Xcode 27.1 beta version, allowing developers to create and debug applications for iPhone and Duo. Today, Apple has released the first candidate version of Xcode 27.1 (RC 1), which developers can download and use directly.
Apple has announced in the Developer Information Center that developers can now submit App and game optimizations targeting iPhone and Duo at App Store Connect.
As long as you use Xcode 27.1 to recompile and package it, the product page of the application will automatically display a dedicated identifier, informing users that this App has been adapted for iPhone Duo.
Apple has also set a mandatory requirement: starting from April 2027, all applications and games listed on App Store must upload screenshots for iPhone and Duo models.
Apple stated in the announcement that by simply recompiling existing projects with Xcode 27.1, developers can obtain development support for iPhone and Duo. In addition, developers can use the device emulator ( Device Hub ) to preview how App will perform in different opening and closing positions as well as on landscape and portrait screens on new devices.
IT has noticed that Apple provides a full set of supporting resources to help developers adapt their applications to the store pages:
- Design Specifications and Template Files
- App Store Material Management Entrance
- Application preview video specifications
- Model screenshot specifications
In the coming days, Apple will also host several offline iPhone Duo development technology salons, and developers can register online.
iPhone Duo will start pre-sale on October 16th (Friday), with deliveries beginning on October 23rd and the products will be available in stores thereafter.
