Serbia and North Macedonia deepen tourism and business ties ahead of the EXPO 2027 Belgrade event
Skopje, North Macedonia, October 6, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- On the " Visit Serbia B2B Networking " event being held in Skopje by 2027 Belgrade, Serbia's tourism and business opportunities are being brought to North Macedonia. The event brought together tourism professionals and business representatives with the aim of exploring cooperation opportunities before the first professional world expo in the Western Balkans region.
As part of Serbia's international roadshow, this event aims to support new tourism projects and business partnerships in preparation for the opening of EXPO Belgrade 2027 on May 15, 2027.
North Macedonia has confirmed its participation in the exhibition and will make its debut in a pavilion named “All Rhythms of the Sun”, showcasing its country's image through music, cuisine, wine, hospitality, nature, tourism, culture, and art.
EXPO 2027 Belgrade CEO Danilo Jerini ć stated: "The ties between Serbia and North Macedonia are not just about borders. Our countries are connected by geography, history, culture, and strong personal bonds. EXPO 2027 provides a platform for us to bring our tourism and business communities closer together, establish new partnerships, and transform regional connections into lasting opportunities for cooperation."
In 2025, the bilateral trade volume of goods reached 1.5 billion euros, while Serbia welcomed 82,047 tourists from North Macedonia between January and July 2026, a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
