Hoboken, N.J. On October 6, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Rocket One Inc. (Nasdaq ticker: RKTO) ("Rocket One" or "the Company") today announced that it has signed a patent licensing agreement with the U.S. Department of the Air Force, covering a technology designed to capture hostile drones and isolate their communications, further expanding the Company's anti-drone system (counter-UAS) technology portfolio.
This 12-month evaluation patent licensing agreement covers U.S. Patent No. 10,239,637 B2, titled “System and method for arresting and neutralizing unmanned vehicles” (a system and method for intercepting and neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles). The agreement grants Rocket One the right to evaluate this invention within the United States, with application scenarios including military base protection, airports and airfields, homeland and border security, maritime and port security, critical infrastructure, correctional facilities, as well as government facilities.
The architecture described in this patent combines physical encirclement with radio frequency isolation. It describes an friendly drone deploying an encirclement device around a target drone, and cutting off communication between the target drone and its operator through a shielding design. Other configurations described in the patent may also support local deception, interference, and signal intelligence functions.
Rocket One CEO Robb Knie stated: "This agreement adds a patented method for capturing and neutralizing hostile drones to Rocket One's defense technology portfolio. The combination of physical capture and communication isolation enables us to assess a unique capability beyond Swarm Stage AI. Our focus is on evaluating how this technology can support the protection of military facilities, airports, borders, and critical infrastructure."
Rocket One plans to evaluate system configurations, testing requirements, as well as potential integrations with its anti-drone programs during the assessment period. The company believes that this technology has the potential to complement its drone swarm threat simulation and anti-drone training platform Swarm Stage AI, and to assess a physical interception solution beyond simulated threat scenarios.
The capabilities described in the patent still need to be evaluated and tested, and do not represent the product performance that Rocket One has already achieved. This agreement only provides the right to evaluate and does not grant authorization for commercial sales. Any future commercialization will require additional rights and applicable approvals. This agreement is not a government procurement award, nor does it constitute recognition by the U.S. Air Force of Rocket One or its products.
