Olathe, Kansas, October 6th / PRNewswire / -- Garmin (New York Stock Exchange ticker: GRMN) today announced the launch of the Enduro 4, a solar-charged GPS smartwatch that boasts the longest battery life among its offerings. Equipped with dynamic features and capabilities, it helps endurance sports enthusiasts go further on their next adventures. The Enduro 4 features an energy-efficient 1.4-inch MIP display and combines it with solar panels, providing up to 320 hours of battery life in activity mode or up to 90 days of battery life in smartwatch mode1. It also introduces several innovative updates, including pace training targets adjusted to terrain slopes, rolling pace based on slope, endurance zones, endurance curves, and a Garmin Epic multi-day activity tracking feature.
Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, Susan Lyman, stated: "As the attention and participation in ultra-endurance activities continue to grow, Enduro 4 is designed for athletes and explorers who want their equipment to be reliable with every mile, every climb, and every challenge. Intuitive features such as comprehensive power modes fully leverage the advantages of the long-lasting battery, while the slope-adjustable indicators add a new dimension to preparing for hilly or mountainous terrains."
Adjustment functions according to slope, endurance indicators, etc.
In addition to over 100 activity profiles, Enduro 4 also introduces new features for the Enduro series, which are optimized for cross-country running, multi-day hiking, backpacking trips, and endurance athletes.
- The comprehensive power mode offers preset options that allow for optimizing battery life and performance according to user needs. The configurations include Max Accuracy, which is suitable for shorter-duration activities and provides full feature tracking; as well as Max Battery, which is ideal for long-term activity recording (up to 320 hours with solar charging).
- Pace training targets adjusted according to slope can help athletes maintain an appropriate level of effort in undulating terrain, while rolling paces adjusted based on slope can display the actual pace under different terrains in real time.
- The endurance zone allows for the display of how an athlete's endurance affects their performance in activities, while the endurance curve helps users understand how their endurance changes over time based on their physical fitness and training history.
- Compared to Enduro, Enduro has a 50% increase in memory, and is equipped with a more powerful map update engine. With a 30% faster panning speed and a smoother, more intuitive built-in routeable map interface, navigation is easier than ever. The perspective view provides more details of both nearby and distant areas, helping users better predict what will happen next.
- Garmin Epic allows athletes to combine multiple activities into a coherent story within Garmin Connect ™. Activities can be grouped by day, week, or month to form “Epic”. Users can add photos and share them with family and friends, while also viewing summarized health and performance data for that period.
- Enhanced rowing tools provide additional training insights such as VO2 and max as well as power curves for indoor rowing activities, while the extended weighted hiking function allows users to adjust the weight of their backpacks during the exercise and set target indicators such as calorie consumption.
