On Tuesday, Anthropic announced an expansion of its Claude Startups initiative, which is the latest move by this artificial intelligence laboratory to further deepen its connections with founders and rapidly growing companies.
Claude Startups was initially launched in May. According to Anthropic, thousands of companies are already participating. The company is opening this program up to more organizations, and members will receive Anthropic Claude products and quotas worth thousands of dollars to help them with their development.
Anthropic stated in a declaration: "We have created this program because we believe that the benefits of artificial intelligence will be primarily delivered to the majority of people through companies that build products on top of these models, rather than just through the models themselves. This makes close collaboration with founders and developers a core part of our mission."
The vast majority of Anthropic's revenue comes from corporate customers. Over the past year, the company has been working hard to compete against competitors such as OpenAI and Google, which have also launched relevant programs for startups. As the market generally expects the company to undertake a major IPO in the near future, Anthropic is making efforts to ensure that the next generation of businesses will use its products for construction.
Claude Startup members can obtain discounts of up to $45,000 and quotas through Claude Startup Stack. Anthropic describes it as "a set of benefits provided for the tools essential to running startups." In addition, eligible organizations can also receive a one-time $1,000 API quota, as well as a year of free Claude Team that can be used by up to five senior seats.
Anthropic also indicates that members can communicate with the company's AI team during online working hours, and can establish connections with other members of the Claude Startup community during activities.
Anthropic indicates that startups that have been established for less than five years or those that have received financing in the past two years are eligible to apply.
