News from the IT community on October 8th: OnePlus X and BOE's fourth-generation Oriental Screen technology communication meeting will be live-streamed online on October 9th at 10:00 AM, claiming to push "transparent display," "smooth picture quality," and "dynamic clarity" to new heights simultaneously.


IT has noted that the OnePlus 16 smartphone has been scheduled to be released on October 12th. It will come equipped with the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Elite Edition, offering a gaming experience of 185FPS and supporting a global 165Hz high refresh rate. In addition, the device is available in three color options: Starry Night, Dark Forest, and Martian Masterpiece, and it will initially run on the ColorOS 17 operating system.
For further reading, Dongfang Screen is a flexible display brand jointly created by BOE and OnePlus. Previously, Dongfang Screen 3.0 was unveiled on October 14, 2025, at the "China Screen Refresh Moment" event co-hosted by BOE, OPPO, and OnePlus, and was featured on that year's OnePlus 15. This screen boasts the world's first native 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate and 1nit ultra-low light display, and is equipped with BOE's LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh technology, which enables seamless frequency switching from 1Hz to 165Hz.
The star of this communication meeting is the fourth-generation Oriental Screen. According to previous leaks, the OnePlus 16 will use the Oriental Screen X4 lighting material and has made significant upgrades to its circuitry, thereby achieving a pure hardware-level global ultra-high refresh rate.
