Legendarary hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones told CNBC that due to the increased stock supply brought about by large technology companies IPO, 2027 could be a "very, very difficult" year for the stock market. He also stated that the current negative supply environment facing the U.S. stock market might be the worst since 2002.

Legendary hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones stated to CNBC that due to the impending arrival of large tech companies IPO, the stock market may face challenges next year.

"2027 will be a very, very difficult year for the stock market," Jones said on Tuesday during the program "Squawk Box" on CNBC. "You are likely to see the most negative capital flow environment for the U.S. stock market since 2002."

The founder and chief investment officer of Tudor Investment, Jones, stated that during the bull market over the past four years, corporate repurchases and mergers and acquisitions have provided support for the stock market for most of the time, as these factors reduced the supply of stocks. However, this situation is now changing: companies in the field of artificial intelligence such as Anthropic and OpenAI are about to conduct large-scale offerings, and SpaceX has also just completed an offering. Jones also mentioned that in order to raise funds for AI, more companies may also undertake secondary offerings.

This bull market has entered its fourth year, driven by the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, with the S&P 500 index more than doubling in value during this period. However, investors are concerned that as inflation rises, bond yields increase, and the Federal Reserve takes a more hawkish stance, this bull market may begin to lose momentum.

In May of this year, this billionaire investor stated that he had purchased more stocks related to the development of AI, while also observing similarities to the early days of technological prosperity. However, he also compared the current market period to 1999, which was about a year before the burst of the internet bubble in 2000.

“I’ll be short-selling for a whole year. Really—there’s almost no value at all,” said Jones. “In 1998 and 1999, you saw so many new issues, so many IPO, and actually the same was true in 2000, 2001, and 2002 as well. Those years were the easiest to be short-selling because you kept seeing these new offerings, continuously adding supply to the market.”

Why Has Bitcoin's Latest Rebound Stopped Around $84,000?
On October 13, Bitcoin briefly rebounded to around $84,000, but weak demand for spot Bitcoin in the United States and a dense of sell orders around that price level limited further gains. At the same time, a sharp decline in the South Korean stock market, as well as the prospects for U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, also kept the market cautious.

Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase refuse to underwrite $3.7 billion in AI chip loans, Volta financing costs rise above 11%
According to Bloomberg, PitchBook LCD and IFR, JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs jointly led a financing of approximately $5 billion for Volta Infrastructure Holdings. However, they only provided underwriting guarantees for loans related to the $1.3 billion lease portion, while adopting a "best efforts" approach for the $3.7 billion GPU loans. The yield on this transaction upon maturity ranges from 11.21% to 11.75%, which is higher than that of some similar GPU financings. This reflects that banks are still involved in AI infrastructure financing, but they have become more cautious regarding the risks associated with chip loans.
