Tinicum, New Jersey, and Mountain View, California, October 19, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Cognizant (Nasdaq ticker: CTSH) and Google Cloud today announced a significant expansion of their partnership, which includes the establishment of a new Gemini Frontier Capability Group aimed at accelerating the implementation of proxy-based AI.

The team has assembled a specially formed international team that combines Google's enterprise-oriented, end-to-end AI platform with Cognizant to develop solutions in various fields, industries, and engineering capabilities as AI.

With the support of over 18,000 dedicated employees at Cognizant, this new team represents an important joint investment for both parties and builds upon the momentum created by Cognizant's establishment of the Gemini capability center in April 2026. The team is aimed at helping enterprises transition from the pilot phase to a production environment, enabling them to securely deploy robust enterprise-level AI agents and bringing measurable business value.

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S stated: "By establishing our own Gemini Frontier Capability Group, our finest frontline AI engineers can devote themselves wholeheartedly to bringing the new generation of AI to customers' production environments. In our ‘Build with Gemini’ workshops, over 55,000 employees have gained hands-on experience and mastered the skills to use one of the world's most advanced AI platforms. Now, this experience is being applied daily in new teams."

Google Cloud's CEO Thomas Kurian stated: "For large-scale deployment of AI proxies, we need reliable partners with profound capabilities in system architecture and integration. The Frontier Capability Group established specifically for this purpose, as well as the company's efforts in training tens of thousands of engineers to use Gemini, will help our common customers accelerate the deployment of autonomous proxies across their entire enterprises."

Gemini Frontier Capability Group Introduction

The team aims to meet the growing demand from enterprises for large-scale AI implementation and, by leveraging Gemini – Google Cloud's platform for developing, orchestrating, and deploying proxies – provides production-ready AI solutions to help global enterprises achieve tangible business results. The team's development capabilities will initially focus on modernizing existing systems, enhancing the developer experience, transitioning business processes to autonomous AI proxies, as well as advanced network defense.

To put these capabilities into practice, the team plans to adopt a standardized, security-oriented AI proxy architecture. This architecture is based on Model Context Protocol ( MCP ) and is further reinforced by Google Cloud's Model Armor. These trusted frameworks will serve as the foundation for a series of collaborative, production-ready enterprise solutions, including Cognizant Catalog Support Agent ( CSA ) for the retail industry, a medical proxy market organized by Neuro ® San, as well as multi-AI proxy order-to-cash ( O2C ) workflows for the manufacturing sector.

Leverage Frontier Certified Engineers to expand business results

The foundation of this team is the commitment made by Google Cloud and Cognizant to jointly promote the implementation of customer projects through Frontier Certified Engineers. A preliminary case study shows that by integrating the Gemini AI model into the entire software development lifecycle, Cognizant helped a leading retailer increase developer productivity by 40%, reduce time to market by 30%, and cut costs by 35%, highlighting the transformative potential of AI in driving software development.

As part of its Frontier certification training program, Cognizant recently collaborated with Google Cloud to complete the “Build with Gemini” workshop. Employees from Cognizant developed AI agents and applications during this workshop and obtained Gemini related capability certifications. Over 55,000 Cognizant employees have participated in this workshop, making it the largest single Gemini partner workshop to date, and it is also an important step in building a team of employees with Frontier certifications.

Cognizant is also being used on a large scale internally. As the company announced in July, Cognizant will provide Gemini to 100,000 employees this year, with plans to increase this number to 200,000, while continuing to expand its commitment to professional talent certification for this platform.
