The newly established Forte Cyber Assurance business will enhance the organization's capabilities in objective network security reviews, compliance verification, and supervision when facing CMMC and other complex regulatory requirements.

Washington, October 22nd / PRNewswire / -- Forte Technologies Today, we announce the acquisition of Business Cyber Security Solutions ( BCSS ). BCSS will now operate under the name of Forte Cyber Assurance and become a dedicated business unit under Forte Technologies. Forte Technologies is a national company that provides IT, network security, private and public cloud, as well as compliance services.

BCSS was established in 2016 and is headquartered in Inverness, Illinois. It specializes in helping managed service providers (MSP) enhance their network security and compliance capabilities. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, including the Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO), managed security operations, threat detection and response, vulnerability assessment, as well as compliance support for frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, CMMC, and NIST. With its partner-first approach, white-label delivery model, and proprietary Cybersecurity Pyramid framework, BCSS helps MSP strengthen customer relationships, serve regulated industries, and increase recurring revenue without expanding its internal team.

Through this acquisition, Forte, as a portfolio company under Broadwing Capital, has added a new business focused on CMMC for the defense industry sector. Forte Cyber Assurance provides objective review, verification, and supervision to ensure that its security controls comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

This announcement coincides with Forte's participation in the CS5 East 2026 event held in Washington from October 22nd to 23rd. The conference brought together defense contractors, cybersecurity professionals, assessors, and compliance experts to focus on discussing Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification ( CMMC) as well as the ever-changing requirements of the defense industry base.

Independent design

Forte Cyber Assurance includes a dedicated CMMC service team, led by the CMMC service director. The team members consist of Registered Practitioners ( RPs ) and Registered Practitioner Advanced ( RPA ) professionals. This team assists defense contractors in defining their Federal Contract Information ( FCI ) and Controlled Unclassified Information ( CUI ) environments, formulating System Security Plans and POA & Ms, bridging the gap between NIST SP and 800-171, and preparing for the primary self-assessment and secondary certification evaluations conducted by Certified Third - Party Assessment Organizations ( C3PAOs ). For contractors that require a compliant environment, Forte also provides a managed CMMC secure isolation environment based on Microsoft GCC High and secure virtual desktops, and continues to provide ongoing compliance maintenance after the evaluation.

Forte Cyber Assurance operates independently from the technical and network security delivery teams of Forte, providing objective assessments of security posture, compliance readiness, and supporting evidence. This separation helps the organization to demonstrate the effectiveness of its security initiatives to auditors, regulatory authorities, insurance companies, customers, and the board of directors.

Forte, Vice President of Cybersecurity Compliance, stated: "Customers will not be recognized for controls that cannot be proven. After integrating BCSS into Forte, we have retained the same team and continuity that customers are familiar with, while also having access to more resources behind the scenes. We have also kept Cyber Assurance separate from delivery, so the evidence we help customers establish stands up to scrutiny."

For regulated industries Cyber Assurance

Forte Cyber Assurance provides support for organizations in highly regulated industries such as defense contracting, healthcare, financial services, law, and manufacturing. This service helps companies assess and maintain compliance with requirements and frameworks such as CMMC, HIPAA, SOC, SEC Regulation S-P, GLBA, PCI DSS, and ISO. The capabilities of Forte Cyber Assurance include:

  • CMMC Preparation, compliant isolation environment, and continuous compliance maintenance
  • Cybersecurity and Compliance Preparation Assessment
  • Framework Preparation and Evidence Review
  • Compliance Project Development
  • Ongoing compliance supervision
  • Consultation, verification, and security testing
  • Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Management
  • Security and Compliance Report

Forte Cyber Assurance follows a clear governance process that separates security implementation from independent assessment, and provides additional oversight for ensuring conclusions and customer-facing reports. The approach of Forte enables organizations to strengthen their network security and compliance initiatives while retaining their existing IT service providers; it also complements the hosting, network security, and compliance services provided by Forte Technologies. Organizations can benefit from independent reviews and verifications with broader technical support, which helps them identify gaps, improve their preparedness, and provide credible evidence of their security and compliance status.

Forte Technologies CEO Bret Kidd stated: "Building on the comprehensive professional capabilities of CloudScale365, Valeo Networks, and PCS International, Forte provides integrated technical services and specialized expertise to the organization in order to address increasingly complex security and regulatory obligations. The acquisition of BCSS represents another step in our continuous investment in professional cybersecurity and compliance capabilities."
