NVIDIA stock: BofA calls it one of the top winners in the AI field, as cloud spending approaches $1 trillion

Bank of America has identified NVIDIA, Intel, Marvell Technology, Micron, Ram Research, and New Silicon Technologies as potential beneficiaries of ongoing AI infrastructure spending, despite these stocks experiencing significant declines on Thursday.

Among them, Micron Technology fell by 8.29%, Intel fell by 6.44%, Micron fell by 4.78%, Newport Technology fell by 3.99%, and NVIDIA fell by 3.93%.

The Vivek Arya from Bank of America indicates that the proliferation of open-weight AI models – that is, models whose parameters can be freely accessed by developers – should increase the demand for computing hardware, as running these models still requires a substantial amount of processing power.

This line estimates that cloud infrastructure spending will nearly double from approximately $510 billion in 2025 to about $1 trillion in 2026, and may further increase by 37% in 2027. It also mentions that the growing usage of token proves that the workload of AI is still continuing to expand.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that after OpenAI made a major entry into the field of mathematics, mathematicians' reactions evolved from shock, pain, and anger to gradually accepting that AI will play an inseparable role in digital and proof-based research. However, this optimistic assessment stands in sharp contrast to what some members of the mathematical community describe as a "shift in perspective."
