TRX Options Login Blockchain.com, minimum premium of $5
Blockchain.com has included the TRX option in its Trading Account, as one of the features launching for seven different assets. The minimum premium for this service is $5, and it is only available to eligible users in the United States and other markets that are not included.
- TRX is one of the seven cryptocurrencies supported by Blockchain.com for this option launch, with the initial expiration time being up to one week.
- According to the qualification rules published by Blockchain.com, residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada are excluded from this service.
- The starting price of the option is $5 in premium, plus additional fees, and it cannot be sold or closed out before expiration.
- The BVI entity of Blockchain.com acts as the sole counterparty, and the contract is settled bilaterally outside of the exchange.
In a announcement released on October 28th, TRON DAO confirmed this availability. Prior to that, in an announcement on October 20th, Blockchain.com had already listed TRX as one of the cryptocurrencies supported for launch. The initial list of products also included Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid, Avalanche, and XRP, as well as the native tokens of TRON.
TRX Option contracts can last up to one week.
In the launch announcement, Blockchain.com indicates that customers need to first select the expiration date, target price, and transaction amount, before reviewing and confirming the purchase. The application will then convert these selections into call or put options, and display the real-time market price throughout the process.
The company states that the initial contract period is up to one week, and upon purchase, it is necessary to prepay using USDC held in Trading Account. Blockchain.com describes this service as a purchase option, with the amount paid in advance constituting the maximum potential transaction loss.
In the announcement of TRON DAO, Blockchain.com Vice President of Consumer Business, Taro Ugen, stated that TRX is a “natural complement” to the options product line, and mentioned the scale of the network, its user base, as well as the role of that token in blockchain operations.
TRON DAO indicates that this product allows users to access TRX options within the consumer applications of Blockchain.com. The announcement for this product was released on October 28th, while the dates mentioned in the text are October 21st; moreover, an earlier announcement from Blockchain.com had already included this asset in the list of assets to be launched.
U.S. residents are excluded from options services
The support for Blockchain.com includes FAQ. Residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada are not able to use this service. France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Malta, Japan, and Nigeria are also on the same exclusion list.
In addition to geographical restrictions, the company's access guidelines also state that users need to have an account that meets the requirements and Trading Account, and may also need to complete further identity verification, or accept the "Option Agreement" and risk confirmation. The guidelines prohibit the use of VPN to bypass local location restrictions.
According to the 'Option Agreement' updated by Blockchain.com on October 12th, the contracting entities are Blockchain.com ( BVI ) II Limited. The document defines these products as cash-settled European call and put options, which are agreed upon between the customer and the entity in a bilateral manner.
The protocol states: “WE ARE YOUR SOLE COUNTERPARTY TO EVERY OPTION AND WE ACT AS PRINCIPAL, NOT AS YOUR AGENT OR BROKER.” Blockchain.com indicates that these contracts are not traded on exchanges or any trading venues, and customers do not have any rights regarding any trading venues or counterparty hedging parties.
In a separate risk guide, the company stated that the service lacks the permissions and regulations described in the agreement, and users are also unable to benefit from the regulatory protection or compensation schemes provided by licensed financial services.
Costs and settlement determine whether a payment results in a profit.
The minimum amount of $5 in Blockchain.com and FAQ only covers the royalty fee; additional applicable fees must be paid separately. In the fee guide, the company lists two types of charges: the percentage of the royalty fee that is paid at the time of purchase, and a settlement fee charged for any amount exceeding the royalty fee when the total payment meets certain conditions.
The same guide states that the premium included in the quote includes the spread or mark-up, but it is not displayed as a separate fee. Blockchain.com indicates that the fee schedule may be adjusted, and some customers may receive discounts, but these changes will not affect the contracts that have already been purchased. Customers will see the applicable fees before confirming the transaction.
In the payment guidelines for Blockchain.com, the total payment for a call option equals the settlement price minus the strike price, multiplied by the number of cryptocurrencies covered by that contract. For a put option, it is the strike price minus the settlement price, multiplied by the same quantity. Both formulas apply when the contract is in-the-money at expiration.
This guide distinguishes between "receiving payment" and "realizing a profit": The final payment amount must cover the rights fee and upfront costs for the customer to make a profit overall. Blockchain.com indicates that the buyer does not need to hold the underlying cryptocurrency, nor will they face additional margin requirements or the need to deposit more funds to maintain their position.
Company FAQ states that customers cannot sell in advance or close their positions, as the execution price and expiration date are fixed upon purchase. The access guide indicates that quotes are currently valid for 30 seconds, and if a purchase is not confirmed, a new quote must be obtained.
In the risk disclosure, Blockchain.com warns that the indicative probabilities, odds, and potential payout amounts displayed before purchase are not predictions, nor do they guarantee returns. The company states that changes in cryptocurrency prices can affect the value of options, and if the contract is worthless upon expiration, the buyer will not receive any payment.
Blockchain.com has expanded its range of derivative products
Before launching options, Blockchain.com previously introduced wallet-based perpetual contracts, which were reported by crypto.news on April 22. The company stated that this product utilizes Hyperliquid and covers over 190 crypto markets, offering up to 40x leverage within its self-hosted DeFi wallet.
On October 21st, a report regarding the US predictive market application of Blockchain.com cited The Financial Times, stating that the company is seeking regulatory approval to offer event contracts. The report pointed out that neither the application for Blockchain.com nor another application from Binance US constitute authorization to begin offering these products.
Prior to the latest options announcement, TRX related investment products have entered the US brokerage market. Canary Staked TRX ETF made its debut in the US on September 9th under the code TRXS. The registration documents for this fund describe a strategy that involves holding and pledging TRX, with the retained pledge rewards being included in its net asset value.
