St. Louis, October 28 (Reuters) / PR Newswire / -- St. Louis Technology Company 9Line today launched 9Line Pinpoint. This service can detect the location of 911 calls made from within a geofenced property using mobile phones and send a reminder to the on-site security team of the institution within seconds after the call is made.
According to NENA: The 9-1-1 Association data, currently over 80% of 911 calls come from wireless devices. Although landlines and networked campus phone systems can alert on-site staff when someone dials 911, mobile phone calls have long been a blind spot.
9Line Pinpoint is designed to fill this gap. When someone calls 911 from any location within a customer's property using a mobile phone, 9Line Pinpoint will detect the location of the call and notify the on-site team of the caller's position, whether it's from a parking garage, the interior of a multi-story office building, or the central plaza of a campus. 9Line Pinpoint will also send the contact information of the institution's security team to the 911 dispatch center handling the call, so that the dispatcher knows who is in charge at the scene and can contact them directly.
9Line co-founder and CEO Mark Turpin stated: "On National First Aid Workers' Day, we think of those who rush to emergency situations. What is less discussed is how much time they waste when searching for people in need of help. In the military, medical evacuation requests start with location information, as everything else depends on it. This is the principle upon which this company was founded, and 9Line Pinpoint applies this principle to the majority of emergency calls today."
In a year-long national analysis, researchers examined over 1.7 million calls from 485 institutions. A study published in JAMA Surgery found that emergency medical services units take an average of 8 minutes to arrive at the scene after receiving a 911 call, and nearly one-tenth of rural incidents have a waiting time of nearly half an hour. In large properties, on-site teams aware of the location of the 911 caller can begin rescue efforts before external rescuers arrive and can guide them to the correct location once they arrive.
9Line Pinpoint is aimed at institutions that own large properties and multiple buildings, including schools and universities, hospitals and elderly care communities, public utilities, corporate and government parks, as well as sports venues and public places.
9Line Dispatch provides schedulable locations for corporate telephone systems and guarantees a 99.999% uptime; 9Line Echo offers semantic analysis and call transcription based on AI, which is used to provide context in emergency situations to help teams respond appropriately. 9Line claims that its services cover over 10,000 organizations in nearly 300,000 locations across the United States and Canada, and has handled more than 600,000 emergency calls.
Demonstrations of 9Line Pinpoint are now available by reservation. Institutions can arrange demonstrations at 9line.net / pinpoint.
