Plano, Texas, October 28, 2026 / PRNewswire / Parks Associates in "Family Security in Transition: The Future of ProtectionThe study indicates that among the major home security service providers, Brinks Home has the highest average monthly home security service fee, which amounts to $66.50. The industry average is $55.70. At the time of this study's release, consumers' spending on home security systems was on the rise, as was the demand for smart cameras and video doorbells.

Research shows that there are significant differences in monthly service fees among major security brands. Brinks Home charges an average of $66.50 per month, followed by Vivint at $63.90 and ADT at $60.60. Ring has an average monthly fee of less than $50, while the average monthly fee for local and regional security service providers is $42.41.

Parks Associates Senior Vice President and Chief Analyst Jennifer Kent stated: "Apple's entry into the home security field may help to lower the barriers to adoption, making devices easier to install, connect, and use. Consumers want products that work together seamlessly, with as few setup steps as possible, ideally with a 'one-click activation' feature. As more cameras, video doorbells, and security devices are added to homes, simplifying installation and daily use will become increasingly important."

Parks Associates has found that 15% of American internet households have purchased smart video devices in the past year, which is approximately 19 million households. As competition intensifies, security service providers need to find a balance between pricing and customer value, making it easier for households to gradually add more devices and expand their systems. Higher upfront costs, the ongoing popularity of video devices, and the demand for professional services all create opportunities for both established service providers and new entrants.

Kent indicates that the growth of video devices is creating more opportunities for security companies to reach consumers before they purchase traditional security systems. Cameras and video doorbells are usually the first security products that consumers bring into their homes. Service providers have the opportunity to offer professional installation, additional devices, monitoring, and other services on top of these purchases, thus giving customers a reason to maintain a continuous relationship.

《Family Security in Transition: The Future of ProtectionThe study examined consumers' security needs, adoption trends, and monitoring preferences, including hybrid modes. It identified the drivers of customer churn, satisfaction indicators, as well as consumers' acceptance of new technologies such as proactive deterrence and automated detection. The research also traced the future development path of the home protection market, extending from traditional systems to emerging service models.
