Lund, Sweden, November 4, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- International medical imaging and cybersecurity company Sectra ( STO : SECT B ) has signed an agreement with the Mount Sinai Medical System in New York ( Mount Sinai Health System ) to deliver Sectra Reporting. This product is a native reporting module within Sectra's enterprise imaging solutions Sectra One Cloud. Sectra indicates that radiologists at Mount Sinai will be able to complete the entire process from working on a case list to signing a report in one seamless experience, without the need to switch between multiple systems, which will help to reduce report turnaround times.
Radiologists regard film review and report writing as the same task, and the tools they use should also work together in the same manner. With the help of Sectra Reporting, which is part of our PACS framework, the report functionality will evolve in tandem with the imaging platform. New capabilities, including AI, can also be provided to our radiologists without the need to integrate another system, said Dr. Mendelson, Vice President of Information Technology for the Radiology Department at Mount Sinai Health System.
Mount Sinai Health System is the first medical system in the United States to establish a partnership with Sectra regarding radiology reports. Sectra Reporting integrates images, AI, and reports into a single platform. Mount Sinai is one of the leading comprehensive academic medical systems in the United States and also one of the largest medical systems in the New York metropolitan area, comprising 7 hospitals, over 400 outpatient facilities, more than 600 research and clinical laboratories, as well as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai ( Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai ). This medical system is currently using Sectra's enterprise imaging solutions in radiology, breast imaging, and corporate archiving. By incorporating Sectra Reporting into the same platform, it will be possible to reduce supplier complexity and simplify IT management.
This seven-year contract was signed in the second quarter of the Sectra 2026/2027 fiscal year and covers all radiology services, involving over 1.2 million examinations per year. It is scheduled to be launched in the spring of 2027.
"The report should be where the images are. At Sectra, it is part of the same system. Mount Sinai has decided to adopt Sectra Reporting, which reflects a broader trend towards a unified diagnostic workflow. We look forward to showing what this means for radiologists – they will have fewer applications to manage, while patients will benefit from faster turnaround times," said Sectra, Inc. President Isaac Zaworski stated.
Sectra indicates that with the help of Sectra Reporting, radiologists can dictate freely, and the system will automatically structure the report. The diagnostic impressions drafted by AI are then reviewed, and a quality check is run before signing to identify any inconsistencies.
Sectra indicates that its enterprise imaging solutions provide a unified strategy for all imaging needs, while also reducing operational costs. This scalable and modular solution, centered around VNA, can help healthcare providers expand from one specialty to another, and from one institution to another.
