Investors in Revolut have completed a round of secondary share sales, and the valuation of this British fintech company has reached $115 billion, which is 53% higher than its valuation during another round of share sales a year ago. Meanwhile, the company is preparing to launch a bank in the United States in 2027.
Investors who participated in and led this share sale include Glade Brook Capital Partners, Coatue, Durable Capital Partners, T. Rowe Price Associates, and Baillie Gifford. This transaction did not bring any new funds to Revolut. The company refused to disclose how many shares were sold.
Revolut was founded in 2015 by Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko. It has evolved from a remittance app into a financial services platform, serving over 80 million retail customers in more than 40 countries. The company has established banking operations in Europe and this year launched banks in the UK, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. It has also obtained banking licenses in France, Colombia, and Argentina.
Earlier this year, the company also began to launch financial services in India and has received conditional approval from the US Federal Reserve (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) to establish a national bank. Revolut plans to launch the bank in the first half of 2027 after obtaining final regulatory approval.
The company, headquartered in London, has seen a continuous increase in profitability, achieving a profit margin of 38% in 2025 on a revenue base of 6 billion US dollars.
Although most of the business of Revolut is centered around consumers, its corporate banking division, which was launched in 2017, is becoming increasingly profitable. James Gibson, who is in charge of Revolut Business and also a partner in the company, stated in a recent interview with TechCrunch that this division accounts for about 20% of Revolut's gross profit.
The company stated to TechCrunch that Revolut Business currently covers Europe, the UK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, handling a monthly transaction volume of over 36 billion pounds (approximately 48.6 billion US dollars), of which the US market alone accounts for over 1 billion pounds (about 1.35 billion US dollars). The annual revenue of this department exceeds 950 million pounds (about 1.28 billion US dollars), and customer deposits amount to over 18 billion pounds (about 24.3 billion US dollars).
The company stated that among the new customers of Revolut Business in the United States, nearly half are newly established companies.
Gibson indicates that Revolut is seeking to bring its corporate banking services to more markets, including Mexico, Brazil, and India, but it did not specify when the company expects to achieve this goal. He also stated that the fintech firm hopes to increase the number of its corporate customers from the current over 800,000 to 1 million by 2027.
As valuations rise, Revolut is also weighing the options for a public listing. Storonsky considered a dual listing in New York and London and indicated a preference for a primary listing in the United States. However, it is reported that the valuation of Revolut's IPO could reach $200 billion, but the earliest listing would not be until 2028, depending on market conditions.
