Justin Drake: AI may crack Bitcoin before the Quantum Day
2026-10-08 17:27:02
According to CoinMeta, researcher Justin Drake stated that it is possible to crack Bitcoin before the “Quantum Day,” which could happen within a few months. He pointed out that the mathematical foundations underlying the protection of users’ assets could collapse in just a few months, rather than several years, in the worst-case scenario. “Quantum Day” refers to the day when quantum computers become powerful enough to crack Bitcoin. He mentioned that those who hold private keys control users’ assets and warned large holders to consider transferring their funds to addresses that have never been used for any transactions to prevent potential risks.
