CoinMeta data: Ethereum's upgrade is running on the public test network, handling a budget more than three times that of before, with the aim of providing more payment and transaction capacity for the blockchain. The upgrade was activated on Tuesday at Sepolia, and developers tested token software without real value. By early Thursday, the gas limit for blocks had approached 200 million, an increase from about 60 million before the change. gas measures the computational work required to process transactions. A review of 25 consecutive test blocks on CoinDesk found that each used approximately 52 to 92 million gas, which is about 26% to 46% of the available budget. During the voting period on Thursday, 32 planned blocks were proposed, and 99.97% of the eligible test network votes supported their final confirmation; the network regards their transaction history as settled.
