According to CoinMeta, the 79th Vault on BNB Chain suffered a loss of approximately $12.5 million due to the suspected leakage of the private key for managing hot wallets. The attacker transferred 2.01 million 79AU in 7 transactions and then exchanged them back into the same pair in 95 transactions, causing the reserve of USDT in the pool to drop from $15.2 million to $3.9 million. As a result, the attacker cashed out 16,249 BNB, which is equivalent to about $12.5 million. In addition, the operational key was used to transfer 3.79 BNB to an external address, and another 500,000 79AU were transferred to other addresses.
