According to CoinMeta, the U.S. government recently transferred 9,261 bitcoins (valued at approximately $770 million) to Coinbase Prime, which includes 2,456 bitcoins that were newly discovered and are linked to seizures by federal law enforcement agencies. This transfer of bitcoins is related to previous seizures of cryptocurrency criminal assets. According to reports from Galaxy Research, about half of the bitcoins transferred in the past two days came from hackers associated with Bitfinex, while the other portion originated from known seizures conducted by Binance. Coinbase Prime has been used by the U.S. Marshals Service since 2024 as a custodian for seized assets.
