Nvidia supports a 25% downgrade in the valuation of Firmus IPO
2026-10-09 04:58:57
According to CoinMeta, the company supported by Nvidia announced a 25% reduction in its IPO price, bringing its valuation down to 33 billion Australian dollars, due to investors' doubts regarding the valuation of the AI data center and associated execution risks. The issue price was lowered from 11 Australian dollars to approximately 8.25 Australian dollars, with the expected equity valuation dropping from nearly 44 billion Australian dollars to 33 billion Australian dollars. The potential IPO earnings are also expected to decrease from about 7.9 billion Australian dollars to 5.9 billion Australian dollars, which is roughly equivalent to 4.1 billion US dollars. This revaluation is noteworthy as Firmus is backed by Nvidia and Blackstone and is preparing for one of the largest listings in Australian history. Firmus plans to operate with a data center capacity of about 1 gigawatt, but currently only about 42 megawatts are in use. Investors were required to value the company with most of the capacity still yet to be built. The stock price of Maas Group, which holds approximately 3.2% of Firmus, fell by 30% at one point and ultimately closed down more than 22%, resulting in a market value loss of about 517 million Australian dollars.
