According to CoinMeta, SpaceX has raised approximately $111 billion this year and now plans to refinance an additional $40 billion to purchase NVIDIA chips to support its AI expenditures. The company is in talks with banks for a loan of around $10 billion and $30 billion in investment-grade debt. It is expected that Apollo will lead the financing, with institutions such as PIMCO also discussing participation. This financing plan follows closely on the $86 billion IPO and $25 billion bond issuances completed by SpaceX in June, bringing the total financing amount to about $111 billion so far. The new funds will mainly be used to support the growing operations of SpaceX's data centers. Musk is rapidly expanding the computing power related to XAI and related businesses, and it is anticipated that by the end of 2027, the computing power will increase from about 1.4 gigawatts to 15 gigawatts. This significant growth will require substantial investments in chips, electricity, and facilities.
