2026-10-09 06:19:07
According to CoinMeta, the Cardano Foundation announced that its application for the .ADA top-level domain name has entered the next phase of the new generic top-level domain name program of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The application previously received approximately 75% of the governance votes from the Cardano community. If ultimately approved, .ADA will be available for use with traditional internet domain names and is expected to support applications such as simplified wallet addresses, decentralized identities, and domain name tokenization. ICANN will next assess the technical compliance and operational capabilities of the application, with this round of top-level domains expected to receive official authorization between 2028 and 2030.
