According to CoinMeta, Nextblock announced an investment of $3 million in the seed round of Soda Labs, to fund the blockchain infrastructure company’s expansion of its programmable privacy technology. This investment will support Soda Labs in transitioning from the existing GCEVM privacy layer to Soda Bubble, which is a chain-agnostic coprocessor designed to enable private computing between different blockchain networks. Soda Labs has developed an encrypted privacy solution based on obfuscation circuits and multi-party computation (GC-MPC) over the past two and a half years; the system uses encryption standards such as AES and SHA256 and can run on standard cloud CPU. Soda’s technology has processed over 100 million transactions on the Coti network, with applications including the tokenization platform Zoniqx and the perpetual contract exchange Privex, the latter having a trading volume of over $20 billion. Soda Labs plans to use the new funds to focus on commercial adoption and expansion, as well as integration with financial infrastructure providers.
