According to CoinMeta, CZ responded on platform X to an article by Vitalik regarding how accelerated mathematical research could impact the security of cryptography. CZ claimed to have a mathematics score of 99.99 points and their own score was 0.01 points, joking that perhaps if the two of them worked together, they could achieve something. CZ stated that even if people don't understand Vitalik's article, it's still worth reading such an interesting analysis and discussion. Vitalik Buterin had previously published a warning that accelerated mathematical research could weaken the security of cryptographic systems in the next two years, including technologies such as ML-DSA and fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), and might even put ECDSA at risk of being cracked. Ethereum's Lean roadmap has since shifted towards pure hash signature solutions.
