U.S. Treasury yields approach 24-year highs, PIMCO warns they could reach 6%

CoinMeta data: The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds approached 5.29% on Friday, slightly lower than the recent peak of 5.34%, which is the highest level since April 2002. Dan Ivaskin, Chief Investment Officer at PIMCO, stated that a yield of 6% is a possibility, which has raised concerns about high global borrowing rates, stocks, and corporate credit. This year, the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds has risen by about 120 basis points, marking the largest quarterly increase of this century. Ivaskin warned that yields exceeding 5.5% could lead to a “quite weak” performance in the risk markets.
