According to CoinMeta, Adam Back responded to the remarks of Ledger co-founder Nicolas Bacca on X, saying " checkmate satoshi ", which was a humorous comment in response to Claude revealing the origin of the ECDSA curve. Claude discovered within less than half an hour the origins of the seeds NIST P -192, P-224, P-256, P-384, and P-521. These seeds did not come from any hashing algorithm but were generated by lrand48 random number generator in the C library, with the seeds being Unix timestamps. This discovery reduced the speculation that the mysterious cryptographic seeds of NSA might hide backdoors. Back further stated, "This is NSA's fault, as they did not disclose the repeatable steps for generating the NIST release curve." Bacca also said, "That's true, but it's still a good joke."
