According to CoinMeta, the cysic cross-chain bridge was attacked on October 17th, where attackers unauthorizedly minted 10 million cys on the BNB Smart Chain network. The project team has suspended the cross-chain bridge, and the relevant addresses have been added to a blacklist. A security company has been hired to conduct an investigation. The attackers accessed the database and exploited logical vulnerabilities to forge minting messages; however, the mainnet of cysic and users' assets were not affected. Currently, about 2.8 million cys coins are restricted from being transferred, and the actual losses are still being assessed.
