CoinMeta data: According to the "Digital Gold Market Opportunities Report" released by the World Gold Council, the current size of the digital gold market is between $45 billion and $55 billion. Digital gold transforms honest physical gold into tradable digital "standard gold units," which are used to support a range of products and services such as tokenization, custodied gold, and collateral, without being restricted by the properties of physical gold bars or their storage locations. The report predicts that the digital gold market will grow at an average annual rate of about 27%, and by 2031, its market size is expected to reach between $160 billion and $170 billion. The value of the physical gold investment market is approximately $13 trillion, but digital gold currently accounts for less than 1% of the global physical gold market. In the first quarter of 2026, the cumulative spot trading volume of tokenized gold reached $90 billion, exceeding the total trading volume for the entire year of 2025.
