Microsoft, Google's parent company, and Goldman Sachs join the ranks of companies opposed to tokenized stocks

According to CoinMeta, seven companies including Microsoft, Google’s parent company Alphabet, and Goldman Sachs have expressed opposition to trading their stocks on OKXICE TSV. The total number of opposing companies has now risen to 16. As announced on Monday, OKXICE TSV is a tokenized stock trading platform planned by OKX in collaboration with Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. In previous announcements, the number of opposing companies was 9. The announcement did not specify the reasons for their opposition, nor did it clarify whether this opposition would prevent the stocks from being traded on that platform. Goldman Sachs’ opposition is particularly notable as the bank itself has investments in the blockchain market. The updated announcement also mentioned that the trading platform will offer stocks that are tokenized by external parties or by the issuers themselves, which may allow companies to have more direct involvement in how their stocks are listed on the blockchain. The platform is planned to operate on the XLayer blockchain at OKX, and transactions will be settled using stablecoins such as USDC and USDT.
