CoinMeta Data: JPMorgan Asset Management has for the first time predicted in its 2027 long-term capital market assumptions report that Bitcoin will have a compound annual return of 10% over the next 10 to 15 years. This prediction exceeds the 7.5% for large U.S. stocks, 5.5% for gold, and 7% for the classic 60/40 stock-bond portfolio. However, the report notes that Bitcoin’s annualized volatility is 55%, which is much higher than gold’s 17%. JPMorgan stated that although it has provided a range for Bitcoin’s returns for the first time, it has not yet included it in the main covariance matrix. Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan welcomed this prediction but believed that JPMorgan’s assumption of volatility is too high, resulting in a overly conservative return forecast.
