According to CoinMeta, as reported by AXIOS, U.S. officials stated that White House special envoy Witkov will meet with Russian President Putin in St. Petersburg on Wednesday and present an updated plan for ending the Ukraine war. The White House hopes that Putin will show greater willingness to compromise after Trump agrees to lift sanctions on Russian diesel sales and takes other steps welcomed by Moscow. Before traveling to Russia, Witkov held a day-long discussion with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Oslo, Norway, and also consulted with leaders from Norway, Finland, as well as representatives from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, the European Union, and NATO. A U.S. official said that the new plan is intended to “create a feasible path for direct trilateral negotiations and broader multilateral talks.”
