Amazon Spends Billions to “Lock in” NVIDIA GPU, but Warehouses Remain Idle Due to Power Shortages

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cailian News on October 21st, Amazon has established a new "early receipt of racks" program. Under this program, Amazon plans to receive server racks worth approximately $5 billion in NVIDIA GB300 in advance and deploy them in data centers in the United States. It will also continue to make new hardware purchases at a rate of $3 billion per month. However, due to insufficient power capacity at multiple AWS sites, the prematurely purchased NVIDIA GPU equipment can only be left idle in transit warehouses, resulting in "idle" GPU resources that cannot be put into use.
