According to CoinMeta, Tether has announced its lead investment in the seed round financing of Bolivian fintech company Peso. The funds will be used to expand local fiat currency deposit and withdrawal channels in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, as well as to advance the construction of merchant payment networks and virtual account infrastructure. Peso offers USDT accounts that support savings, consumption, investment, and cross-border transfers. These accounts have been integrated with USDT food delivery payments on Bolivia's digital service platform Yango and are connected to the local banking system through QR codes and automated settlement systems. The amount of the financing has not been disclosed.
