According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, researchers from OpenAI discovered two critical vulnerabilities (PHP) that caused the government websites of countries such as Finland, the Netherlands, and France to go offline on Wednesday. The CEO of OpenAI, Greg Brockman, stated that over the past two months, they have led an alliance aimed at mitigating this serious open-source software vulnerability (php2shell). This vulnerability allowed anyone to execute their own code on servers running PHP. PHP released a fix within a day after the details of the vulnerability were disclosed. It was revealed that this vulnerability had existed for 14 years, and the limited versions that appeared in 2024 were not considered a major issue at the time. Brockman also pledged to invest $1 billion in its AI project to protect critical infrastructure.
