According to CoinMeta, Lee Hyung-il, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy of South Korea, stated during a national policy audit that they will gather opinions from the industry and parliament before making a decision regarding the taxation of cryptocurrencies. The South Korean National Tax Service pointed out that it is difficult to have 100% control over data related to overseas and decentralized transactions. The taxation of cryptocurrencies, which was originally scheduled to be implemented next year, led the South Korean government to convene the heads of five major cryptocurrency exchanges on the 20th to hear their opinions on postponing the tax collection.
