According to CoinMeta, NVIDIA announced on October 21st that it is collaborating with six upstream suppliers to expand its global manufacturing capacity in order to meet the growing market demand for its accelerated computing and full-stack artificial intelligence platform solutions. NVIDIA plans to increase the production capacity of the substrates required for its products by 2.5 times over the next three years, covering areas such as substrates, advanced packaging, semiconductor testing, and optical packaging. Under an agreement with the Japanese company IBIDEN, NVIDIA will support the capacity expansion of its factory in Obanazawa, Japan, with a prepayment of several billion dollars, with gradual implementation expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028. Samsung Electro-Mechanics will join NVIDIA's substrate supply chain and start shipping immediately; by 2028, NVIDIA is expected to account for a significant portion of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' packaging substrate business. NVIDIA also plans to collaborate with Siliconware Precision, aiming to increase the production capacity of their CPO optical engines by 15 times by mid-2027 and double it again by the end of 2028.
