Telegram has begun to further integrate encryption wallet capabilities into applications. The latest arrangements indicate that Gram will be gradually made available as the default self-managed wallet within applications. The original robots “Wallet in Telegram” have been renamed to Walt and will continue to handle multi-chain transactions and a wider range of financial services.
Gram will be opened in two phases.
The new wallet supports users to perform point-to-point transfers directly in chat scenarios. According to the official statement, such transfers can be completed instantly, without any handling fees, and there is no need for KYC verification. Use cases include GRAM token transfers, payments, as well as purchasing username, gifts, and premium phone numbers among other products within the ecosystem.
Telegram indicates that the launch of Gram will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, it will be opened to a small number of users, and in the second phase, it will gradually cover its global user base of over 1 billion users in the coming weeks.
Walt continues to provide multi-chain trading services
At the same time, Telegram will rename the bot “Wallet in Telegram” @ wallet to Walt. This product will continue to exist as an independent entry point, and users can access it through the search bar.
According to disclosures, Walt provides asset trading services across 4 blockchains, covering more than 200 types of assets. Its product range also includes over 300 types of cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, ETF, income-generating projects, as well as perpetual contract trading.
- Gram: Default self-hosted wallet in application settings
- Walt: Multi-chain financial services entry point via the search bar
- Two services: Users are required to manually check whether their accounts have been activated.
TON Ecological integration continues to advance
This product adjustment is part of the “Make TON Great Again” plan, which is being driven by Telegram Chief Executive Officer Pavel Durov. The roadmap consists of 7 steps, with the goal of making TON the main application layer and financial layer of Telegram.

One of the key actions was completed in June of this year. At that time, the TON community renamed the TON network to gram ( GRAM ), restoring the token's original name. Previously, this name had been abandoned due to a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
After the announcement of the news, GRAM rose by 3.67% on that day, reaching $1.40. However, looking at its performance over the past month, GRAM has had a cumulative increase of 1.08%, which is significantly lower than Bitcoin's approximate 26% increase during the same period.
