Bitget has updated the report on the security incident on Thursday, raising the scale of affected assets to approximately $387.5 million, which is higher than the previously disclosed $352 million. The company stated that based on on-chain tracking, about $387.5 million in assets have been transferred to addresses controlled by the attackers. The platform has currently suspended withdrawals and has launched a bounty program to facilitate the freezing or recovery of these related assets.
New statistics include Zcash and TRON.
Bitget indicates that this correction does not mean the emergence of new unauthorized transfers, but rather that the statistical methodology has become more comprehensive. The company stated that the latest figures include Zcash and TRON related affected assets that were not taken into account in the preliminary estimates, hence there is an increase of approximately 35 million US dollars compared to the previous report.
The platform also emphasizes that the situation has now been brought under control, and there is no possibility of further unauthorized transfers.
Involves multiple chains and various assets
The company disclosed that this incident involved addresses on the Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks, XRP Ledger, Zcash, and TRON. The assets that were transferred included XRP, ETH, USDT, USDC, ZEC, BNB, AVAX, TRX, USDT0, and XAUt.
From the disclosed information, it appears that this is not a case of damage to a single on-chain asset, but rather a centralized transfer event involving multiple networks and currencies.
The platform continues to suspend withdrawals and advances with recovery efforts.
Bitget stated in the latest update that withdrawals will continue to be suspended. Meanwhile, the platform has launched a bounty program in an effort to encourage those who assist in freezing or recovering the relevant assets.
Even calculated using the figures before the update, this incident is considered one of the larger safety accidents in the industry. Reports mention that in February 2025, Bybit suffered a theft of approximately $1.5 billion in ETH.
Additional information:Bitget This update did not respond again to the previous speculation by CEO Gracy Chen that the attackers might be related to North Korean hacking groups, and emphasized that the increase in asset size was due to supplementary statistics, rather than an expansion of the incident.
