News from the IT family on September 27th: Xiaomi's 18 Pro series of smartphones was officially released on the evening of September 23rd, featuring the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform. They come equipped with a Leica 200-megapixel primary camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto lens at the back, and offer the "Legendary Moment" large model imaging technology. The starting price is 5999 yuan.
Bao_Xiao Li, the product manager of Xiaomi's camera department, introduced in detail on Weibo the "legendary moment" feature of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series of phones. This feature utilizes an end-to-end imaging large model trained on millions of camera photos, claiming to deliver image quality comparable to that of professional cameras.
"Legendary Moments" also supports camera-level depth of field blurring, using large model algorithms to restore a true optical sense of layering, achieving blurred effects that are closest to the laws of optics. At the same time, the original image data can be uploaded to the cloud for lossless processing in the album, and with massive amounts of real data for training, automatic optimization is provided for all scenarios.
IT noticed that in December last year, when Xiaomi released the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, it introduced a dedicated "Leica Instant" mode, which was developed in collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica. This mode includes two options: LEICA M3 and LEICA M9.
- Leica M9 image quality, restoring legend; CCD rich texture, vibrant colors;
- Leica M3 + MONOPAN 50 image quality, with the texture of black and white film;
- Classic 3:2 full frame, derived from Leica's first-generation film aspect ratio.
The newly released Xiaomi 18 Pro series features a Leica dual 200-megapixel imaging system for the first time. Both sizes are equipped with the new "Leica 200-megapixel large-format periscope telephoto lens," which comes with a 1/1.56″ large-format sensor and has a native 75mm golden focal length. It supports 3.2X optical zoom and 12.8X lossless zoom. The lens adopts a dual-lens group floating focus structure and supports 12cm telephoto macro shooting.
