Market America has completed the sale of the SHOP.COM domain name, marking an important milestone in the digital evolution of this global startup and also ushering in a new chapter for this company with a history of 34 years.

As stated on Monday by Market America Worldwide, the company has sold the SHOP.COM domain name to Shopify.

On the occasion of this transaction, Market America is re-integrating its business ecosystem under its original company name. On September 22nd, Market America launched a newly designed MarketAmerica.com, which is built on Shopify and aims to bring together the company's exclusive brands, products, technologies, shopping experience, as well as UnFranchise ® Business into one major global digital destination.

The company stated that this move is not just a change in website address, but also part of a broader transformation of Market America. The aim is to simplify the customer experience, accelerate innovation, and provide entrepreneurs with more powerful technologies to help them develop their businesses in the rapidly changing digital economy.

Market America Worldwide, Co-Founder and CEO, stated: "This is not the end of SHOP.COM, but the beginning of the next era for Market America. We have achieved extraordinary results with SHOP.COM, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished. However, our greatest opportunities lie ahead. Market America is our name, our heritage, and it is also the company we founded over thirty years ago. Now, we are bringing together our products, employees, technology, and entrepreneurial community under this name."

Market America acquired SHOP.COM in 2011 and over the following 15 years developed that domain name into an international shopping destination for customers from around the world and UnFranchise ® Owners. SHOP.COM has also become an important part of Market America's expansion into social shopping and digital commerce.

At the time of this sale, Market America is making large-scale investments in its next-generation business platform.

The new MarketAmerica.com offers a faster, more modern, and mobile-first shopping experience, including simplified checkout processes, improved search and navigation, as well as the AI shopping assistant of Market America, which is designed to help customers discover products and browse the company's continuously expanding product range.

Popular customer features and experiences such as subscriptions, savings, cashbacks, and 60-second health quizzes will still be available on the platform.

For Market America's UnFranchise ® Owners, this unified platform makes the connections between the company, its exclusive products, customers, and the entrepreneurial businesses behind them much clearer.

Market America Worldwide President Marc Ashley stated: "For 34 years, we have always been Market America. SHOP.COM has become an important part of our evolution, but Market America has always been the company behind our products, brand, and UnFranchise ® Business. Today, we are integrating these elements into a more powerful ecosystem. One company. One identity. One destination. And a stronger foundation for the future."

Market America was established in 1992 and has undergone multiple generations of business model evolution – from relationship marketing and direct sales retail, to e-commerce and social shopping, to today's AI which empowers businesses.

The company believes that the launch of the brand MarketAmerica.com is the foundation for its next phase of growth, and in the future, it will continue to invest in exclusive brands, artificial intelligence, digital business technologies, as well as the evolution of UnFranchise ® Business.

Ridinger said, "34 years ago, when we founded Market America, we believed that as long as ordinary people had the right products, systems, and opportunities, they could create extraordinary lives. Technology has changed, shopping habits have changed, and the world has changed, but that belief has never changed. Now, we have the opportunity to combine what has always made Market America stand out—our employees and products—with technology that was simply impossible to achieve back when we started the business. That's why this moment is so exciting."
