Taiwan ORing promotes global railway on-board connectivity
Taipei, September 29, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- ORing Industrial Networking, a professional industrial networking manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan with 20 years of market experience, showcased its new generation of IRoN railway Ethernet switch product portfolio at InnoTrans 2026. ORing stated that, with its extensive product development capabilities and practical deployment experience, the company is helping railway operators and system integrators build reliable and secure onboard networks for increasingly interconnected rail transit systems.
ORing indicates that its network products have been deployed in passenger and freight railway projects across Europe, the United States, and Asia. This performance record has shaped the company's understanding of railway networks: in this field, reliability throughout the long lifecycle of vehicles, interoperability across suppliers, and ease of integration are not dispensable considerations.
As trains carry an increasing number of networked devices and data-intensive services, on-board networks must handle critical control communications, video surveillance, passenger information, and other services on the same infrastructure simultaneously. The IRoN series is designed to meet these requirements, with some models offering time-sensitive networks (TSN), 10GbE connections, or PoE++ depending on the configuration. The company claims that these options not only maintain the performance and certainty required for time-sensitive railway communications but also simplify wiring and device management. Operators can choose the appropriate configuration based on their applications and reserve space for additional services and devices that may be added in the future as operational needs change.
ORing indicates that security is built-in during the design phase, rather than being added later on. The IRoN series is being developed in accordance with the requirements of IEC Security Level 2 (62443-4-2), and certification is planned. Product development also takes into account the EU's Cyber Resilience Act to meet the protection needs at the device level and to help customers adapt in advance to increasingly stringent regulatory expectations. At the exhibition, ORing also showcased an ignition control power supply device that can respond to vehicle start and stop signals.
ORing indicates that as the product portfolio that meets the EN 50155 standards continues to expand, coupled with the proven deployment performance, the company is able to provide the increasing technical depth required for railway projects.
