Taiwan ORing promotes the development of global railway on-board connectivity
Taipei, September 29, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- ORing Industrial Networking, a professional industrial networking manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan with 20 years of market experience, showcased its new generation of IRoN Ethernet switch product portfolio for the railway sector at InnoTrans 2026. Leveraging its extensive product development and practical deployment experience, ORing supports railway operators and system integrators in building reliable and secure onboard networks for increasingly interconnected railway systems.
ORing indicates that its network products have been applied in passenger and freight transportation projects across Europe, the United States, and Asia. This track record has shaped the company's approach in the field of railway connectivity: in this area, reliability throughout the long lifecycle of vehicles, interoperability across manufacturers, and ease of integration are not optional features.
As trains carry an increasing number of networked devices and data-intensive services, in addition to supporting video surveillance and passenger information systems, the on-board network must also handle critical control communications, and these functions often operate on the same infrastructure. The IRoN series is designed to meet these requirements, with some models offering time-sensitive networks (TSN), 10GbE connections, or PoE ++ depending on the configuration. ORing indicates that these solutions not only ensure performance and the certainty required for time-critical railway communications but also simplify wiring and device management. Operators can choose configurations that suit their specific applications and reserve space for adding more services and devices as operational needs evolve.
Security is incorporated from the design phase, rather than being added afterwards. ORing indicates that the development goal of the IRoN series is to meet the requirements of Security Level 2 (62443-4-2) specified by IEC. Authentication processes are currently in planning. The company stated that product development also takes into account the requirements of the European Union's Cyber Resilience Act, thereby providing protection at the device level and helping customers to prepare in advance amid increasingly stringent regulatory requirements. At the exhibition, ORing also demonstrated a power supply device controlled by an ignition system that can respond to vehicle start and stop signals.
ORing indicates that as the product portfolio that meets the EN 50155 standards continues to expand, coupled with a proven track record of project implementation, the company is able to provide the technical capabilities increasingly required for railway projects.
