After delaying its listing, the developer of ChatGPT is seeking new financing while continuing to expand its artificial intelligence tools amidst growing security concerns.

OpenAI is seeking at least $30 billion in new financing, with a pre-financing valuation of approximately $1.4 trillion. Previously, the company had postponed its initial public offering (IPO) to after 2026.

As the company expands its product line, the annualized revenue operating rate of the ChatGPT developer has exceeded $40 billion in the summer, and they have launched a 24/7 AI proxy as well as a subscription package priced at $500.

According to its IPO prospectus, competitor Anthropic is expected to go public in November, with a potential valuation of over $2 trillion.

Bloomberg reported that OpenAI is seeking at least $30 billion in new financing, with a pre-financing valuation of approximately $1.4 trillion, excluding additional capital; the company had previously postponed its initial public offering (IPO) for 2026.

This proposed financing will provide additional capital before the final listing.

The last time this ChatGPT developer raised funds was in March, when they secured $122 billion in financing. Including that investment, the company's valuation was $852 billion.

The CEO, Sam Altman, stated that OpenAI will not go public this year due to increasing concerns regarding artificial intelligence security and the challenges faced in adapting to increasingly powerful systems.

At the same time, revenue growth is accelerating. Bloomberg reports that the annualized revenue run rate of OpenAI has exceeded $40 billion in the summer, and it has reportedly grown by 70% since July.

The company is also expanding its commercial products, launching a 24/7 AI proxy named Dots, and introducing a subscription plan starting at $500.

Competitor AI, a giant Anthropic, is expected to go public in November. According to the plan disclosed in its IPO prospectus, the company will use $518 billion for cloud computing and infrastructure. The potential listing valuation of this company could exceed $2 trillion.
