The 2000 cult classic film "60 Seconds" starring Nicolas Cage took only one minute, while Clayton Lloyd Iley will "disappear" for 160 months.

The North Texas District Attorney's Office in the United States stated that this 41-year-old Stephenville businessman from Texas was sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. According to the prosecution, he used the proceeds of his fraud to purchase over 90 exotic and collectible vehicles.

The prosecution stated that Iley operated an insurance brokerage business in Cross Plains in Texas, and between January 2020 and May 2026, funds were also transferred through two companies controlled by him, including Spartan Global Security. This company conducted its business under the name of “Black Eagle PMC” and provided private military contracting services.

He told the victims that they could invest their money in a loan project named “Bonded Note”, claiming that it was a project provided by the Department of Defense to private military contractors. The prosecution stated that this project did not exist; instead, he collected over two million dollars and used it for personal expenses as well as other parts of the scam.

He also collected premiums from insurance customers, yet never issued any policies for them. The prosecution claimed that he subsequently provided the victims' personal information to banks in order to apply for credit cards opened in their names without their knowledge. He recorded these expenses as business income through an account with the identifier Spartan Global, and used these credit cards to pay for personal bills as well as the cost of purchasing cars.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould stated: “The actions of Clayton Iley caused real financial and emotional harm to the victims he targeted, many of whom entrusted their personal information and hard-earned money to him.”

"This judgment reflects our determination to hold fraudsters accountable. Those who steal from community members, manipulate others with fictitious scams, and abuse others' identities will face serious federal consequences."

A lawyer representing Iley was unable to comment immediately. However, Iley pleaded guilty in June, and a federal district judge sentenced him to 160 months in prison on October 1st.

Muscle car collection

According to their plea agreement, Iley agreed to have more than 90 exotic and collectible vehicles purchased with fraud proceeds confiscated. The Ministry of Justice announced that as of July, investigators had seized 22 of these vehicles.

This collection is comparable to an auto show. Investigators seized at least 7 Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Maseratis, including a 2012 model Aventador, a 2015 model Hurac, two Ferrari 488s, and three Maserati MC20s. Based on current market prices, the total value of these vehicles is estimated to be between $1.3 million and $2.1 million.

The list also includes two Dodge Viper, one Porsche Taycan, one Mercedes-AMG two-door coupe, one Jeep Gladiator, and one Ram pickup truck; in addition, there are several classic car models: one 1968 Firebird, one 1979 Trans Am, three Camaro, and one 1973 Plymouth. There is also one Humvee and two military trucks. It is estimated that the total value of the approximately two dozen vehicles identified by the Justice Department is around $1.8 million to $3.1 million. The Justice Department has not released an appraisal value for these vehicles, and the majority of the more than 90 vehicles have not yet been identified.

The authorities will sell these vehicles to use the proceeds to pay compensation to the victims.
