XRP Ledger is approaching one of the most important protocol upgrade windows of this year. According to the official documentation, PermissionDelegationV1_1 will be activated first, followed by BatchV1_1, provided that the supporter rate of validators continues to exceed the required threshold. Both upgrades will introduce delegated account permissions and the ability to process multiple transactions in batches.

XRP Ledger is approaching one of the most influential protocol upgrades of this year. The new features are designed to make complex transactions more secure and to provide greater flexibility in the management of institutional accounts.

PermissionDelegationV1_1 is expected to be activated first, followed by BatchV1_1, provided that the supporter rate of verifiers remains above the required threshold. According to the amendment system of XRPL, the relevant changes must maintain over 80% support from verifiers within two weeks to become officially effective.

XRP Ledger The official documentation describes these upgrades as: adding new permissions for entrusted accounts, as well as the ability to process multiple transactions together.

Atomic transactions may change the complex workflows on XRPL.

BatchV1_1 allows one account to package up to 8 transactions into a Batch.

The most important feature among them is atomic execution. Developers can configure transactions so that either all steps succeed, or the entire operation fails entirely.

For example, an application can complete asset transfer, payment, and fee processing within the same workflow, without having to risk one step being completed while another part fails.

According to the document XRPL, this feature supports four execution modes: All, or, Nothing, Only One, Until Failure, and Independent. This allows developers to have more precise control over the execution method of grouped transactions.

This feature was originally expected to be launched earlier, but due to changes in the support from verifiers, its activation schedule has been adjusted. The revised BatchV1_1 has also replaced the earlier version of Batch, which contained a serious vulnerability.

This upgrade has drawn attention, as asset management companies have been preparing related applications around atomic settlement.

Delegated authority brings a form of account control similar to that of banks.

PermissionDelegationV1_1 addresses a different type of institutional issue.

It allows a XRPL account to grant specific permissions to another account without sharing the original account’s master key. The entrusted account can receive clearly defined authorization, while the main fund account retains ultimate control.

This means that financial institutions can allocate payment, compliance, and operational responsibilities to different wallets.

This feature will create a dedicated Delegate ledger object, and grant, modify, or revoke permissions through DelegateSet transactions.

This model expands on the account control capabilities similar to a banking system that are currently being developed around XRPL.
