IT News on October 8th: Bloomberg journalist Gullman revealed in this week's new issue of the Power On newsletter that the OLED screen version of the MacBook Pro laptop will be significantly lighter than previous models.

However, Goulman stated on the X platform today that OLED MacBook Pro will not thin significantly, which is a retraction from previous statements.

Gurman stated in October 2025 that OLED MacBook Pro would feature a “thinner, lighter” body design. Subsequently, in November 2025, he mentioned again that the touchscreen MacBook Pro would also adopt a “thinner body” design.

According to IT, which previously cited Gorman's report, this MacBook Pro will be the first to adopt a Tandem OLED panel and is also Apple's first MacBook to support touch screens. It is expected to be officially unveiled before the end of November and is anticipated to use either a M5 Pro or M5 Max chip.

The storage boom driven by AI pushed Samsung's profits to nearly 9 times growth, but the stock price fell.
South Korean chip giant Samsung Electronics expects its operating profit in the third quarter to reach 107.4 trillion won (about $80.2 billion), a year-on-year increase of about 783%, with revenue expected to be around 195 trillion won. The main factor driving this growth is the surge in demand for memory chips required for artificial intelligence infrastructure. However, even after the release of the earnings forecast, Samsung's stock price still fell. Investors are concerned whether the current memory chip profit margins can be sustained and whether the positive news has already been fully factored into market prices.
