IT News on October 18th: Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman revealed in today's latest Power On newsletter that Apple plans to launch a HomeView smart home hub equipped with an electric robotic arm, with a release expected as early as 2027.

According to the introduction, this product will be equipped with an electric robotic arm that can rotate 360 degrees around its base and automatically turn towards the person speaking through voice recognition. The new HomeView is expected to come with a 9-inch screen and may be more akin to a companion product.

According to an original report, IT Home has learned that this product is not a direct successor to HomeView, but rather a more high-end version, codenamed J595. Gorman revealed that when the product is launched, it may adopt a new name, or it might simply have suffixes such as “Max” or “Ultra” added after HomeView.

In fact, Apple has been working on robotic arms for several years. In 2024, there were rumors that Apple planned to apply the robotics technology from its car-making project to the home sector. In August 2024, reports indicated that Apple was developing a household robot, which was designed to resemble iPad combined with a robotic arm.
