Zeng Linfeng, the Executive Secretary-General of the Annual Conference Organizing Committee and the Acting District Head of Xicheng District, Beijing, stated at a press conference before the forum that when determining this theme, the main consideration was that a major transformation unseen in a century is accelerating globally, and the world economy and global financial operations are facing challenges.
Zeng Linfeng said, "There is an urgent need to build consensus through openness, overcome difficulties through cooperation, and seek common ground while respecting differences through inclusiveness."
He also stated, "This annual meeting calls for further coordination of financial development and security, for expanding development space through openness, for enhancing the resilience of the system through cooperation, and for achieving mutual benefit and win-win results through inclusiveness."
During the four-day event, there will be a main forum, several parallel forums, as well as three conferences on fintech, insurance, and investment.
The main forum includes the opening ceremony and closing ceremony, as well as five thematic activities hosted by the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Xinhua News Agency, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, respectively.
The heads of Standard Chartered Bank and DWS Group among other global top financial institutions will attend an event organized by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Thursday to share their views on cross-border financial development and cooperation in the new global landscape.
These events will also discuss long-term investment opportunities in China's capital market under the backdrop of two-way openness, as well as topics such as the healthy interaction between financial markets and the real economy.
The parallel forum adheres to an open philosophy and has invited government officials, experts, scholars, as well as representatives from international financial institutions from both domestic and foreign sources. They will share their insights on two main themes: "high-level financial openness" and "financial support for high-quality economic development." The aim is to promote international financial cooperation, create a more open, inclusive, and resilient financial environment, and better serve the real economy.
