Apollo Global Management ( Apollo Global Management ) has launched a European private credit platform with a lending capacity of over 10 billion euros (11.2 billion US dollars), supported by several blue-chip investors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Council ( ADIC ).
This platform, named European Credit Company, will invest in normal credit products for large and medium-sized markets, including corporate loans, asset-backed loans, as well as providing loans to owners of physical assets such as infrastructure and real estate.
The project is led by Giacomo Petrobelli ( Giacomo Petrobelli ) as the Chief Executive Officer, and Christian Meisner ( Christian Meissner ) serves as the Chairman.
Petrobelli stated that Apollo's ECC aims to leverage "intergenerational opportunities" and use the global capital pool to finance Europe's long-term growth agenda.
Apollo collaborates with ADIC.
ADIC's support for this project came just a week after Apollo agreed to acquire nearly 10% of the shares in Mubadala Capital. Mubadala Capital is an alternative asset management subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi ( Mubadala Investment Co ).
Apollo stated in a statement that other strategic partners of the new platform include the European insurance group Athora, Japan's lending institution Nongryong Chuoikukukuro ( Norinchukin Bank ), Standard Chartered Bank ( Standard Chartered ), and the American credit investment institution Aranda Principal Strategies.
Pietrobelli stated: "Our goal is to transform ECC into a leading pan-European credit platform in Europe, focusing on this region and leveraging our strong local connections, differentiated sources of projects, and flexible solutions that cover all types of credit."
Apollo President Jim Zelt ( Jim Zelter ) added, "The global industrial revitalization is creating a huge demand for financing around the world, and this demand is particularly evident in Europe, whether it's in the areas of energy transition and power transmission, national defense, or digital and traditional infrastructure."
