According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin and com, the Lithuanian State Tax Service ( VMI ) has revised the rules for reporting user information of crypto asset holders. The revisions further clarify the definitions of users and related entities that are required to report, as well as adjust the requirements for information submission, self-declaration, and due diligence. These changes are in line with the EU DAC8 directive. Relevant crypto asset service providers and operators are obliged to submit information regarding their users, crypto assets, and transactions. The first batch of data for the year 2026 must be submitted by May 31, 2027, thereafter reports are due annually. The relevant data must be retained for a minimum of five years.
